| The Ultraman series premiered in 1966 as Japan's first live-action special-effects television series, Ultra Q. Followed by Ultraman and Ultra Seven, the series triggered a “monster boom” throughout Japan. Ultraman continues to enjoy widespread name recognition across generations and boasts high popularity and appeal. To this day, Japan's beloved character is revered by three generations as synonymous with the term “hero of justice.” Currently airing is the latest installment, Ultraman Retsuden, a compilation of classic and popular monster scenes from the past 45 years created to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the Ultraman series. |
