1960’s
  March 1960   Direct overseas sales initiated.
  July 1960   Bandai Toys Company established (transfer of authority to Bandai Overseas Supply).
  May 1961   Company name changed to Bandai. Paid-in capital ¥20 million.
  June 1961   Name of Waraku Works changed to BC Manufacturing (name changed to Bandai Manufacturing in May 1966).
  September 1963   Bandai Transport established. Paid-in capital ¥2.5 million.
  November 1963   Representative office opened in New York; US sales begin.
  December 1963   As business expands, company moves to new offices built in Komagata 1-chome, Asakusa, Taito Ward.
Astroboy launched as Bandai's first TV-character toy.
  January 1964   Bandai's remote-control toy car becomes a huge hit.
  January 1965   Racing car set originally released in April 1962 enjoys an enormous boom in sales.

  October 1965   Toy Town manufacturing complex finished in Mibu, Tochigi Prefecture; operations commence.
  July 1966   Crazy Foam launched. Thanks to an intensive marketing campaign spearheaded by TV advertising, 2.4 million units are sold in three months.
      New Bandai trademark (the Bandai Baby) introduced.
  May 1967   Bandai Automobile established.
      Water Motor series is a hit.
      Thunderbird series of electrically-powered toys launched.
  August 1967   New Model Toys Department begins marketing plastic model toys.
  1968   Naughty Flipper series is a big hit, winning a gold medal at the New York International Innovative Products Exhibition in October 1968.
  October 1968   Customer service center established.
  September 1969   Bandai Travel Services started.
  November 1969   Factory acquired in Shimizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Begins manufacturing plastic model toys, including World Car, Thunderbird 2 and Beetle series.
