1990’s
  January 1990   Shinsei Manufacturing changes its name to Yutaka.
  August 1990   Bandai Transport (now Bandai Logipal) lists on the OTC market.
      "Sally's Spikatact" passes the one-million sales mark.
  February 1991   Local subsidiary, Bandai (Taiwan) Co., Ltd., established in Taiwan.
  April 1991   The Chara-Can series of small toys packaged with drinks, produced in a tie-up with Suntory, are a big hit.
  October 1991   Tosho, Seiko and Dairin merge to form Happinet.
  September 1992   Bandai Transport changes its name to Bandai Logipal.
  October 1992   Control over Media Department operations is transferred to Bandai Visual.
  March 1993   The Sailor Moon series is a huge hit.

  October 1993   Power Rangers are a huge hit in the USA.

  March 1994   Sunrise enters the Bandai Group.
  July 1995   Eastern Japan distribution center completed in Tochigi Prefecture.
  October 1995   Three firms founded in the US: Bandai Holding Corp., Bandai Digital Entertainment Corp., and Bandai Entertainment Inc.
  March 1996   Launch of Pippin Atmark.
      Bandai Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. established in Shanghai, China.
  November 1996   Tamagotchi launched.

  February 1997   Tamagotchi-Ver.2. launched. Facing a severe scarcity of stock, Bandai takes the unprecedented step of issuing a press apology for the situation.
  April 1997   Launch of the Hyper Yo-yo.
  June 1997   Takashi Mogi appointed President. Makoto Yamashina becomes Chairman.
  July 1997   Tamagotchi launched in overseas markets.
      Group firms Kaken, Angel and B-AI merge to form Megahouse.
  August 1997   Happinet gains an OTC stock market listing.
  October 1997   Founder Naoharu Yamashina dies on October 28, aged 79.
  April 1998   Over 41,000 people attend a Hyper Yo-yo festival/event.

      Service begins for Dokodemo Aso Vegas, the first content offering for NTT DoCoMo i-mode.
      Digimon Adventure is made into anime (Japan).
  July 1999   Total sales of Gundam plastic model kits top 300 million.
  October 1999   Agreement entered with Mattel, Inc. for joint business development (contract covering Japanese market terminated in December 2003).
  November 1999   The talking stuffed toy Primo Puel goes on sale.
  December 1999   Beam Entertainment Co., Ltd. becomes a subsidiary of Happinet Corp.
